One type of app, and really a whole concept, that has taken off in the lat couple of years is the ability to get information out of barcodes. Whether it is a QR code, or a regular barcode like the ones we see in food, books, and virtually every product on this planet, they all hold certain information and the ability to access that information via our online capable devices is somewhat invaluable. Since Android and iPhone were already in this game, Windows Phone 7 had to be in it as well. So, XDA member sensboston decided to make one himself. This scanner is free of charge and while rather basic, it allows you to use it even if you are not connected to the internet.
So, if you are missing this kind of free app from your old Android device, make sure that you get this app. Any feedback is highly appreciated.
Who wanted a free barcode scanner? Here we are…
No network connection needed; app based on zxing library and Kevin Marshall’s (from Clarity Consulting, can’t remember his blog url now) code.
I just slightly modified the original code and added a few (probably useful but not sure ) services.
You can find more information in the application thread.
