A few weeks ago, XDA member jockyw2001 released the first ever HardSPL kit for the HTC S740 (codenamed Rose), allowing owners to flash custom ROMs to their device. Although the device has now been available for over a year, it has been a long wait for users of the smartphone to acquire this flashing freedom. Now that the HardSPL (hard secondary program launcher) is available, users should expect chefs to quickly start making the most of the device.
Frauhottelmann is leading the way, having created three different ROMs for the device: ‘Lite’, ‘Stock Tweaked’ and ‘Official’, with the latter bringing Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard to the Rose. Development for all three versions is currently in its beta stage, however all of the ROMs support many languages and feature the most essential packages available for non-touchscreen devices.
Head to the respective ROM thread to download one for yourself.
