Jailbreaking of the New iOS to Be Delayed

Jailbreaking of the New iOS to Be Delayed

It looks like the iOS platform keeps on getting updates, with the latest installment to be 4.3. If you have been using an iPhone or iPod, you probably know that many (if not all) releases of the OS can and have been jailbroken only to meet a stop by the time the next update hits, almost like a cat and mouse game. It looks like the developers behind the jailbreaking scene have decided to take a passive approach until the next, already announced release hits the shelves. According to an article posted in our sister site, iphone-developers.com, the dev team has announced that they will work towards jailbreaking and possibly unlocking of the new upcoming Verizon iPhone. However, as the device is a CDMA device, there are further restrictions if you are thinking about taking it to other CDMA networks such as Sprint or MetroPCS. Unlike GSM phones, which ones unlocked can be easily switched from carrier to carrier, the ESN or MEID has to be in the carrier’s database of accepted devices in order to get it to work with that carrier, or the carrier has to be willing to add the device to their database. Historically, Sprint does not usually accept devices coming from Verizon even if they are perfectly compatible with their network.
