New Sense Tab Development: RSS
Posted August 20, 2010 at 06:00 pm by egzthunder1
The missing tab for Sense is finally here, almost. XDA member meltwater has started an open project for the development of a RSS feed tab for Sense/Manila. The project was recently launched and it is in very early stages of development. As such, the app cannot do an awful lot at the moment, but there already is a file in the thread for testing what’s been done so far. Be sure to drop by the thread to try this out and give feedback to the dev.
One thing to keep in mind. The installation of Sense/Manila tabs modifies a lot of stuff in the program, so you should expect a back up and a hard reset if you are going to test this.
The plan is for this project will be open as possible and allow new developers to have a go, I would like to make this accessible as possible.
There is plenty which can be done, by all ranges of skill levels so have a look through and give things a try and ask some questions if you get stuck. The aim initially is to develop a fully working RSS Tab, which everyone can add and contribute to then, using the same methods, many other tabs can be created.
You can find more information in the project thread.
Thanks meltwater for the tip.
