Show and Explain Dual-Touch Technology On Resistive Screens

If you’d like to understand and see how Dual-Touch Technology works on your resistive screen, take a look at Multi 2.0, an application developed by XDA forum member TangoChen.

The app helps to explain how Dual-Touch Technology works.

Features of the app include:

  • Picture – You can drag the picture with one finger or stylus and zoom the picture with two fingers (Pinch to Zoom).
  • GamePad – An On-Screen GamePad that supports up to two pressed buttons!
  • Fact – To show how this application works inside.

How does Dual-Touch work? When you touch the screen with two fingers one by one, you get three points of reference:  1) Fixed Point – location of first finger, 2) Real Point – hardware detection point when two fingers are placed and 3) Fake Point – location of second finger. Interestingly, the hardware does not ‘know’ about this position – instead it is calculated by the application.

Requires Windows Mobile device with resistive screen, .NET CF 3.5/3.7.

For more information and to download Multi 2.0, check out the application thread.
