Tutorial to Enable Text Only and Get Rid of the Start Button

If you like the look of the HD mini, you will be glad to know that this was finally achieved for other devices running 6.5.x. XDA member mnet found this cool registry entry to get what is known as text mode and to get rid of the Start button in WM devices. The latter becomes useful only if you have a device with a hardware Start button, else you will be completely unable to open the start menu.
As far as text only is concerned, according to XDA moderator Captain_Throwback, this allows for the hiding of bubbles and certain graphical elements from the UI. So, if you feel adventurous and have a device with a Start hardware button, take this registry hack for a spin. You will need a registry editor to get this to work.
I’m not sure when this happened, but did you know the Start soft button can be removed, if say, you have a hardware Start button? Also the “Done” or “OK” button can be removed? And the bubbles can be completely removed too? and the pictures can be replaced with all text? I thought that was an HTC build thing, but I’m using 23547 right now (see screenshot).
You can find more information in the hack thread.
