Ubuntu 0.3 for HD2 Released
Posted December 28, 2010 at 03:00 am by egzthunder1
The wait is finally over. XDA member dcordes, who is famous for bringing (along with a group of other devs) Android and Ubuntu to your HD2, has finally released the next version of his Ubuntu port for the aforementioned device. This has been several months in the making and because of one thing or the next, the project always got pushed to the side. However, it seems that this build has finally seen the light of day. This new release sports Maverick Meerkat (which is the code name for Ubuntu v 10.10) and it includes lots of performance updates, including a netbook GUI that was included with the OS. According to the change log, the build also has a much improved kernel, which among other things offers battery charging.
If you were waiting for this to become a reality, then you should be downloading this right this instant. Please provide any feedback to the dev as this is important for future developments of this port.
Used the holidays to get the job done finally.
Will put further info in CET evening.
You can find more information in the Ubuntu thread.
