Verizon Finally Getting The iPhone 4? Looks Like It

Every once in a while, we feature something interesting in our Portal from our sister site, iPhone Developers. This time, we saw an article by Nathan, in which he points at the fact that Verizon customers who were waiting for the much rumored iPhone 4 on their network, may soon have what they asked for. The author of this article makes a very good case on the speculation of the tendencies of people to jump carriers when they get a new toy. The iPhone is certainly a crowd pleaser, as it was shown by AT&T since the introduction of the first iPhone in 2007. So, with Verizon going into the iOS world, it will be rather interesting to see what the tendencies will be. Also, we need to keep in mind that the iPhone may not be ready for LTE, and with the Thunderbolt and Motorola’s secret 4G device around the corner, it may be a tough mound to surpass for Apple.
Speculators seem to agree…the iPhone 4 is due to arrive on the Verizon platform in the early parts of 2011, possibly by Valentines Day. Some believe that Verizon will make the announcement this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, though I believe it’s unlikely, as this seems like something best left to a Jobs magic show.
But lets assume that it’s coming, and coming soon. My question to you is this – are you going to switch? Why or why not?
I’ve decided to hang out on ATT for a bit, mostly because I’m hesitant to give up my unlimited data plan, but also because I couldn’t wait until spring for a new phone (just bought an iPhone 4, finally, this month).
You can find more of this in the original article.
