To the many people that have resisted the urge of going to Android in hopes that Windows Phone 7 would be a better experience with the tweak capabilities that we had in Windows Mobile, I am here to tell you that your prayers did not go to waste. XDA member xboxmod has posted a fantastic reference thread for doing what most people using Windows Mobile devices did best… registry tweaks. The danger and thrill of not knowing what would happen after changing that one value in the registry is back in full force and present in Windows Phone 7. The dev has posted several registry entries to do some things to the OS such as enabling wifi-N, messing with notifications and sound volume, and much more. The guide itself is a work in progress but at the same time, it is a fantastic resource for those who still think that things should perform better. However, remember that registry alterations can force you to perform a hard reset, so proceed only if you know what you are doing.
Please provide some feedback regarding this reference. And better yet, if you have found something new, please do not hesitate to share it with us.
The purpose of this thread is to collate all WP7 interesting Registry Entries &
Tweaks we found and have them in the first page to don’t having to search in many pages.
Please submit any Registry Tweak you have and I will update the first posts.
You can find more information in the reference thread.
