Windows Phone 7 RTM Changes Make WP7 a Speed Demon

Windows Phone 7 RTM Changes Make WP7 a Speed Demon

If you have not heard about this, Windows Phone 7 received RTM status earlier this month and WMPU just posted a few changes their source has noticed. The article speaks of many speed improvements including improved Live mail sync, Marketplace load time, and more. Most of the changes just ended in the word “faster”, which as we all know WP7 has received much press for its speed… So, faster means it has passed what reviewers saw last month and said is faster than the iPhone and any Android device. Faster means WP7 might take the cake for the fastest OS made to date, but lets not get ahead of ourselves, since it is yet to hit the market.

Here is the short change log for the moment:

Landscape in Search
Hotmail/live mail syncing enabled
Text fades out on lockscreen
Marketplace has lots of caching (before it redownloaded the entire database on each load, now it doesn’t)
Games hub loads much faster
Everything is faster
Slight change in Bing maps, app bar UI makes it faster to search, nicer icons
Panorama/pivots work!
Only 10 apps can be sideloaded at a time (which is a right PITA for development).

Now Windows Phone 7 will be making it to the market in October for European residents, November for North America folks, Australia in December, so the wait time is a bit but I certainly can enjoy my HD2 for another two months.
