XDA_UC_NET Updated to Version 0.4

There are several tools for Chefs available in our beloved forum. One that had a fantastic welcome by chefs was one created by XDA moderator Noonski. XDA UC (User Customization) is a silent installer, which allows a device to automatically install cabs, registry tweaks, and many other pre-configured modifications upon flashing a new rom. Based on Noonski’s idea, XDA member serfer222 just released version 0.4 of his XDA_UC_NET, which as its name suggests, is UC but written in C# rather than Mortscrip (used for the original UC).
The app functions in the same way as Noonski’s app by looking for a folder (or set of folders) with name XDA_UC and silently running the customizations present in that folder. Serfer222’s app has several marked differences, one of which is presenting a log to check the success / failure of the installation. This app has been successfully tested in QVGA and VGA emulators, but the dev is still looking for feedback from other members to keep improving it.
short description: This application will install all cab files, reg tweaks, provxmls, run mscr scripts (and more) from given folder. Use it after reflash new ROM to restore everything.
- supports localization
- uses OS functions (if possible, for example for installing provxml)
- predictable – you can control order of everything
- error reporting
- full customization log
I used XDA_UC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show…ghlight=XDA_UC) in my ROMs and the idea is just great.
But there are some issues that I want to fix and also I have some new ideas.
You can find more information in the application thread.
