Although there hasn’t been a SPL for the X2 (and hence no custom ROMs), xda-devs member hertell has posted a method of spoofing the X2′s region code, which allows X2 owners to flash (officially released) ROMs that weren’t designed for their original country.
This method has been used to change X2s to GENERIC_UK, in order to obtain the new MR2 update. It is also possible to change to a completely different language; the following are available:

This message is now updated with a 100% working, and quick way of changing your language for the X2 device. I have now tested with 4 different languages (fi, en, se and de), and all worked. I also updated the cabs to report to the Update Software that the phone has an old version. Now it does not complain that the latest version is installed!
Proceed to the thread for instructions and the cab downloads._________
