Windows Phone 7.8 for the HTC Trophy, Arrive, and 7 Pro
Windows Phone 7.8 hit XDA running. In a matter of weeks, the newest version of WP is already running on the HTC Radar, HTC Titan, and the (legendary) HTC HD2. It has helped revitalize a Windows Phone development environment that had all but given up with the approach of Windows 8. Now, three more WP devices have received a port to 7.8. They are the HTC 7 Pro, HTC Arrive, and the HTC Spark (US version of Trophy).
XDA Senior Member sianto1997, who also brought the HTC Radar port, is responsible for all three ports. The HTC Arrive and 7 Pro releases are pretty much identical. The features for those two include:
-Nokia Counters, Nokia Drive, Nokia Music Camera extras (NOKIA MARKETPLACE)
-USB Video out
-DFT Bluetooth transfer
-Windows Phone 8 startscreen
Of course, with ports do come issues. Here’s the issues list for the Arrive and 7 Pro:
Picturetile: if you make it small you can’t make it full big again
xbox and music and video don’t change accent (make tap the little icon a few times (everytime))
Marketplace icon sometimes has windows logo, sometimes not
if you pin a site and make it really small its grey, and you can only pin one thing to start
Aside from some early hiccups, users are reporting that these ROMs work and work pretty well. Even if they’re a little rough, they can still be used as daily drivers as nothing overly major is wrong with them.
For the HTC Spark, the ROM came out a little better. The features include:
-Windows Phone 7.8
-Windows Phone 8 startscreen
-Windows Mobile Device Center
-USB Video Out
-Search Key Remapper
-DFT Bluetooth File Transfer
-Opitional languages (LANGUAGEPACK)
-No font issue
There isn’t a list of bugs for this ROM, so if there is any they weren’t important enough to mention. Once again, this could be used a daily driver as there haven’t been any real big issues reported.

Once a year, top players in the mobile sphere gather for MWC, to show off what they've been working on and collectively set the standard for the year to come. Yesterday was a big day with the launch of HTC and Samsung's flagships, alongside numerous other announcements, and today it was Google's turn to take the stage. SVP Sundar Pichai took the stage in Barcelona to speak about Google's network initiatives, Project Link and Project Loon, as well as to...
Intel showed its face at MWC 2015 to give the world a yearly update on their upcoming line of chipsets for mobile. While last year the company focused on gathering partnerships and strengthening up their services, architectures and production, now they are revamping their Atom line of SoCs for mobile with a new brand name and a distinctive category format much like that of their i3/i5/i7 line of personal computing processors. The new scheme will be naming the chips x3, x5...
