Windows Phone hacker Jaxbot (quite literally) has brought us another useful homebrew utility: Folders for Windows Phone. It does exactly what it says – you can create folders and pin them as tiles onto your homescreen.
Of course, you’ll need to be developer unlocked in order to sideload the XAP, but interop unlock is not necessary: To add custom apps to folder, it uses a workaround by searching the marketplace for its GUID and pulls the app icon from there as well. Currently, this creates another limitation in that only the US marketplace is supported – most apps can be added just fine, even if you’re located somewhere else, only those few ones that are not available in the US are not supported yet.
It’s still an early release and the developer has promised to fix bugs and add more features over time, so head over to the forum thread and remember to leave some nice feedback._________
