Firmware Update For Nokia Lumia 800 Rolling Out, Fixes Battery Performance

Back in December, Nokia acknowledged that the Lumia 800, one of its first Windows Phones, had a firmware issue that rendered it unable “to access the full battery capacity”, and promised a fix for early 2012. In a blog posting, the Finish phone maker has now announced the promised update that brings the firmware version to 1600.2483.8106.11500 and, besides fixing said battery bug, also improves WiFi performance.
As usual with such updates, they will not roll out for everyone at once. Instead, this update will be phased over the next two weeks, with about half receiving it in the first week and the other half in the second. If you’re really impatient and want it immediately, you can try forcing it.
Should you experience any problems with the update, or if you want to share your experience, especially regarding the battery performance, visit the forum thread.
