HTC Titan II with 16 Megapixel Camera and LTE Headed To AT&T

The rumoured LTE Windows Phone from HTC, which some might have seen floating around the internet as the Bresson, has been officially announced as the HTC Titan II. Apart from a slightly modified back design with curved elements and an LTE radio, it packs a massive 16 megapixel camera. Yes, you read that right – we’re a bit afraid that 16 megapixel on such a small sensor will actually degrade instead of improve picture quality, but are definitely open for a positive surprise. As for video recording, there’s no 1080p support, so you’ll have to stick with 720p.
The other specs remain unchanged from the original HTC Titan: a big 4.7″ WVGA screen, 1.5GHz Snapdragon single-core processor and 512MB RAM.
However, it seems rather strange to us to call what is essentially just an LTE version of the original Titan the Titan II, since it cannot be considered a real successor. On the other hand, it is bound to unnecessarily alienate a lot of people who bought the original Titan, we’d imagine. Let’s hope the camera proves to be enough of an improvement to warrant that.
Or, hey, maybe they just forgot the “II” on the original Titan. You know, there’s been an HTC Titan running Windows Mobile 6.0 since 2007. And then of course we have the HTC TyTN and TyTN II. Anyone confused?
