HTC Titan Receives WP7.8 Port

Looks like all the Windows Phone 7 devices are getting a second wind after their ill fate was announced. Ever since last week when the mysterious 7.8 leak dropped on XDA, people have been going around like crazy, cooking ROMs and updating their devices to ensure that they are not easily tossed aside by the impending release of WP8. Just this past Friday, the mythical HTC HD2 received its very first port of the brand new operating system. One by one, WP7 owners are rejoicing in the fact that their devices will get an extended life span (no thanks to Microsoft). When we looked at the big bad boy, the HTC Titan, we realized that this device was also blessed with a port, and XDA Forum Member Azzelio brought it to light.
The ROM is actually an updated version of the dev’s current ROM and it is loaded with tons of features available for fully unlocked devices, such as USB to video capabilities, registry editor, file explorer, all the Nokia goodness that you can shake a stick at, and of course, the ability to flash a custom ROM. As stated, you will need to make sure that your Titan is fully unlocked via HSPL, which was brought to you by XDA Elite Recognized Developer Cotulla.
So if you still haven’t gotten rid of your Titan and you have already unlocked it, do make sure that you visit this thread and try this ROM. Please note that there are a few other 7.8 ROMs already available based on the leak for the Titan, so you will get some selection when you are out there shopping around for custom ROMs. All in all, happy flashing!
Feature and App add:
- Background Colors
- Google Search
- Update to 7.8
- Nokia / Lumia App (Counters..)
- USB 2 Video out
