Forum member untitledmangxg claims to have bought an LG Fantasy from a developer/engineer in Romania. According to him, the Windows Phone 7 device is set to be released in the first quarter of 2012.

A rendering of the LG Fantasy has been previously leaked in July by Pocketnow, and rumored for a Q4 2011 release, which isn’t too far off. However, comparing the pictures side-by-side, there are some noticeable differences:

• In the rendering, the top and bottom edges of the device are slightly rounded, while the actual device has completely straight edges.
• The Windows key on the actual device seems to have a rectangle behind it, suggesting it to be a hardware button, while the rendering shows it to be capacitive.
• Logo and earpiece on the rendering look smaller compared to the rest of the device, suggesting it to be bigger than the actual device which the forum member claims to have a 4″ screen.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that these are two different devices. We’ll keep our eyes out on this one.
