XDA Notice: Swype
We all love the Swype keyboard on our Android and WinMo Devices, but we have had a little issue recently. Many users have been posting links to download Swype or download links of a custom/themed Swype .Apk or .Cab. Although Swype’s site does not have anything regarding distribution terms, we do not want to be held liable for any Copyright issues. As Swype is distributed via Private Beta and OEM’s, we will presume that it is Warez until further notice.
The input replacement will only be allowed to be cooked on roms for devices that currently carry it as they are OEM licensed products for said application. For those of you interested, this comes from a C&D letter that we received a few months back from the developers of Swype. They have been contacted again for an update on the status of this and we will keep you posted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
As quoted from the XDA Rule #9 “Dont Get Us In Trouble”
Don’t post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn’t do it on your own homepage, you probably don’t want to do it here either. This does not mean we agree with everything the software piracy lobby try to impose on us, it simply means you cannot break any laws here, since we’ll end up dealing with legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users, and those that write great code.
If you are unsure whether an App is Warez or not then don’t hesitate to PM a Moderator.

Did you watch Apple's VP draw on his wrist during the Apple Watch announcement and wonder "why can't my Wear watch do that?" In typical XDA fashion, one enterprising forum member has brought similar functionality to Android Wear with a twist; it works on phones and watches alike, with other platforms on the way! The app is called Pinsy, and its release debut is a strong proof of concept with plenty of room to grow. You may remember the developer behind this project, XDA...
