When we talk about things like Customer Service and Warranty, OnePlus isn't a company that gets spoken about very positively. They had a very rough start in those departments, ending up in the bad books of many customers, and not without good reason, too.

There are plenty of horror stories doing the round on the web of customers who did not get the smooth ride that one usually expects. Whether these stories reflect the ground situation, or belongs to the vocal minority, is a topic that we could debate upon for hours and still not reach anywhere.

It seems that OnePlus has realized that After-Sales is one area that they really could work on. After announcing phone insurance collaboration in North America, Europe and India, the company has now released a list of spare part prices for repairs in India. This move comes in thanks to refinements to OnePlus India's transparency guidelines which are effective today onwards.

The prices mentioned in the list are out-of-warranty prices for components present inside OnePlus devices, including the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. These prices are base prices excluding state taxes (as these vary within states in India) and labour charges. The price list also gives us a glimpse into what parts could cost across the devices. For example, the USB FPC assembly for the OnePlus One would set you back by Rs. 260 (~$4), while the USB FPC assembly for the OnePlus 2 would cost you Rs. 730 (~$11).

OnePlus has also provided a toll-free helpline to contact in case you are being charged for parts above the mentioned prices (excluding tax). For more info, check out the price list.

This is certainly a welcome move from the company as it increases transparency and proposes a means of redressal against over charging customer service centres. We hope OnePlus moves forward on this path and continues on to earning much needed good faith.
