The Amazon Fire tablets are great if you want something cheap with respectable specs and decent software. They're especially handy if you live in Amazon's ecosystem, but if you're looking for a more Android-like experience, they can be frustrating. Thankfully, it's not too difficult to get the Google Play Store up and running on the new Amazon Fire HD 8.

XDA Junior Member lxmeta was able to get the Play Store on his brand new Fire HD 8, which is based on Android Nougat. All they did was install four things: Google Services Framework, Google Account Manager, Google Play Services, and Google Play Store.
