Earlier today ASUS rolled out an Android 10 beta to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and it looks like the company is giving the same treatment to its successor as well. The Android 10 Global Beta is now available for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 for early testing.

The update carries build number 17.2018.1912.409 and brings along December 2019 security patches. As for what to expect from the new update, users can look forward to features like a system-wide dark mode, Smart Reply for all messaging apps, Focus mode, a new navigation gesture system, more control over the location, sensitive permissions, and much more.

The ZenFone Max Pro M2 users wanting to try out the Android 10 beta can install the update right now using the link given at the end of this article. However, be warned that beta software builds are not suitable as a daily driver as there will likely be bugs and missing functionalities. Also, make sure to take a backup of your important data beforehand as installing the update will most likely wipe all your data.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 is a direct successor to the ZenFone Max Pro M1. It was launched in India in December of 2018. It came running a near-stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and was updated to Android 9 Pie two months later. At the time of its launch, the device was quite a beast in its segment and was praised for offering a great value for money and setting a new benchmark for budget smartphones to follow. The main highlights of the device include a 6.26-inch full HD‌+ display, Snapdragon 660 SoC, a 5,000 mAh battery and 12MP and 5MP rear cameras.
