The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 is a direct successor to the ZenFone Max Pro M1. It was launched in India in December of 2018. It came running a near-stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and was updated to Android 9 Pie two months later. At the time of its launch, the device was quite a beast in its segment and was praised for offering a great value for money and setting a new benchmark for budget smartphones to follow. The main highlights of the device include a 6.26-inch full HD‌+ display, Snapdragon 660 SoC, a 5,000 mAh battery and 12MP and 5MP rear cameras.
