Xiaomi is best known on our forums for releasing decently powerful phones for affordable prices. While some of you may have negative views on the company's custom Android software, MIUI, you can't deny that Xiaomi's developing efforts have been spectacular for the past couple of months. The company sends MIUI updates to dozens of its devices and their sub-brand, POCO, is helping the development community. The company has been updating some of their devices to Android Pie, and now the Mi A2 Lite is the latest device to release the update. The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite was released back in July as a budget Android One smartphone sporting some respectable specifications including a 4,000mAh battery and a headphone jack.

The beta program for Android Pie on the Mi A2 Lite started barely two weeks ago. Apparently, the company already finished polishing the update as XDA Junior Member Majaque shared on the forum screenshots of the Android Pie update on their device. According to the screenshots, the system comes with the latest November security patch. Apart from the obvious Android Pie features like adaptive battery and navigation gestures, the update also brings support for FM Radio.

There is not much more known about the update so far. We don't know which regions the update is rolling out in and how widespread the rollout is. If you own the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, you can check for the update in the About Phone category in settings. We'll make sure to provide you with the ZIP file of the OTA update as well as the flashing instructions as soon as they're available. The update is nearly a gigabyte in size, so make sure to keep that in mind if you use a limited data plan.
