As much as people dislike that the term selfie became as trendy as it has, it has created an entire market for smartphones that emphasize and focus on the quality of their front-facing cameras. ASUS made the ZenFone 4 Selfie series official last year with pretty modest low-end specifications, but the smartphones lived up to their names with impressive front-facing camera sensors. ASUS has just announced a new software update for the ZenFone 4 Selfie that includes ZenUI 5.0, and it's based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

ASUS has been working on ZenUI 5.0 for quite a while and they've pushed the update to a few devices already. Back in July, we reported on the new update being brought to the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max. The new update is rolling out for model number ZB553KL and it brings the ZenFone 4 Selfie to firmware version 15.0400.1809.405. Along with the core Android 8.1 Oreo features, ZenUI 5.0 comes with features like a redesigned Settings, wallpaper slideshow on the lock screen, Smart Screen On, Suggested Apps (predicts the app you are likely to use based on contexts), Scheduled Charging, OptiFlex 3.0 for RAM/app optimizations, Game Genie (helps you perform actions like live-streaming and muting alerts), Twin Apps, Face Unlock, and more.

Be sure to check out the ASUS ZenUI landing page for a full list of features they have packed into ZenUI 5.0 which is now rolling out to the ZenFone 4 Selfie. Also, check out the XDA forums for the device to discuss the device with like-minded people.
