The ASUS ZenFone 6, or the ASUS 6Z as it is called in India, is known for its unique 48MP rear-facing camera that flips to the front. The budget flagship of yesteryear was launched with a near-stock version of Android Pie, while ASUS delivered the stable Android 10 update to the phone back in November 2019. And now, the ASUS ZenFone 6 has joined the short list of smartphones that are eligible to receive Android 11 beta builds from their makers.

In order to enroll yourself in the Android 11 beta testing, users need to have the latest stable channel build of Android 10 (software version 17.1810.2008.171) installed on their ZenFone 6. This particular build started rolling out a few days ago, and it introduced a new option named "Enroll in the Beta Test Program" inside the "System update" settings, which is the only way of registering yourself for this limited Android 11 beta testing phase.

Below you can find the download link of the aforementioned prerequisite firmware for the ASUS ZenFone 6. After downloading, move the ZIP file at the root of the internal storage and reboot the phone once to get the notification for the update.

The recruitment period is open till September 4, but ASUS hasn't disclosed anything regarding the number of available slots. The company is planning to publish the recruitment result on September 9, while the selected participants should also receive an individual confirmation email from ASUS. All the beta testers will be given special authorization to access a private section of the ASUS ZenTalk forums, which is meant for posting feedback and bug reports.

Interestingly, the eligibility criteria vaguely demand that your ZenFone 6 must be bootloader locked for Android 11 beta enrollment. The exact verbatim is "Didn't unlock the device before", which indicates that a ZenFone 6/ASUS 6Z unit with a re-locked bootloader might not be eligible for participation.
