ASUS is looking to make a bigger push into India this year. The newly announced ZenFone Max Pro M1 is a budget device that ASUS hopes can make a big splash in the merging market. The specs are on par with budget Xiaomi devices that have become very popular in India. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 will have to be great to make an impact. Let's take a look.

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, which matches what we saw earlier this year on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. There are a few different spec configurations available. The top model includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The device is also available with 3GB and 4GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of storage. The low-end model costs only ₹10,999, which is an incredible price.

ASUS is shipping the phone with stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. That's right, pure, unadulterated Android Oreo. All configurations have the same 5.99-inch 18:9 2160x1080 LCD display. There are dual 13+5MP cameras on the back, 8MP camera on the front, LTE with VoLTE, 5,000 mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner. All very impressive specs for a phone that needs to compete with Xiaomi.

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 will go on sale in India on May 3rd and will be exclusive to Flipkart. The 6GB RAM model will cost ₹14,999, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage will be ₹12,999, and the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is only ₹10,999. The phone will be available in silver and black color options.
