The Red Magic 3 by Nubia was an interesting gaming smartphone that launched earlier this year. It had top of the line specifications (Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and 90Hz OLED display) with unique, albeit gimmicky features (8K video recording), all at a great price. In my view, it ended up being more of a portable gaming device than an actual smartphone. This isn't a bad thing, though, and Nubia seems to be doubling down on this strategy. That's why Nubia announced the Red Magic 3S, an upgraded version of the Red Magic 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is one of the best Android phones right now. While it might be expensive, the phone is more than just a price or spec sheet.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note series represents the best of what Samsung has to offer. The Note has the best display, best specifications, and best cameras of Samsung’s phones each year. Unlike previous years, Samsung launched two Galaxy Note smartphones this year: the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. A lot of people complained about the specifications for the new Note 10, positing that they were a “downgrade” from the Galaxy S10+. After using the new Note 10 phone since launch, I can tell you that this notion is not only false, but that the Galaxy Note 10+ is probably the best phone on the market right now.

In a surprising move, Instagram has finally added a dark mode. It is currently supported in the latest alpha update for One UI and Android 10 devices.
Dark themes are becoming extremely popular in recent months thanks to both Google and Apple adopting dark modes in Android 10 and iOS 13 respectively. While Google has added dark themes to most of its apps, third-party apps are taking more time to adopt dark themes on Android. Instagram, for example, has historically not supported a dark mode, which frustratingly results in what I like to call a "flash-bang of light" when opening the app. Finally, though, the latest alpha update of the Instagram app on Android has added a dark theme. Better yet, it's an AMOLED dark theme so the background colors are black.
Samsung Pay beta rolls out with international money transfers and Samsung Pay Cash card
Samsung is rolling out a new service called "Samsung Pay Cash" to send and recieve money through the Samsung Pay app.
Samsung Pay is, in my view, the best mobile payment app out there. It supports making payments through MST on Samsung Galaxy flagships and NFC payments on some devices, and you can hook up PayPal or most credit cards for payments. Samsung has also added cashback awards and Samsung Pay Rewards to the app. Now, Samsung is adding a few new features to make its payment service even better. Samsung is introducing the Samsung Pay Cash virtual debit card and Travelex integration for international money transfers.

The Google Duo service is starting to get supported on Google Home speakers, and it's also getting the ability to remind you to make calls.
Google is always testing new features in their apps. These features can range from groundbreaking to minor and anywhere in-between. Some of the new features being tested in Google Duo, Google's audio and video chat app, are call reminders and the ability to call Google Home devices.

If you call yourself a gamer and love playing Fortnite on your smartphone, then you probably own (or at least plan to own) one of the few smartphones that support playing the game at 60fps. There aren't many of them; only about 10 phones support it. Epic Games is slowly working on adding support for more mainstream smartphones, and with the latest update, Epic has now added support for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.

The F(x)tec Pro1 is a rarity of a smartphone: it has a slider design with a physical keyboard! The phone is finally going on sale this month.
The F(x)tec Pro1 is the newest phone from the London-based startup, F(x)tec. The Pro1 isn't any normal smartphone, though; it's got something hidden up its sleeve. It has a keyboard which slides out from the back. This is one of the only devices currently on the market with a physical keyboard.

One sign that Samsung is working on Android 10 and will likely be releasing it faster is that T-Mobile already has the update in-house.
Android 10 just launched, and that means the question of "when will my phone get it!?" comes up. Samsung is usually known to be pretty slow with updates, but in the past few years they have really been getting much faster. Last year, for Android Pie, they launched a beta program in November and the official release was in January. This year, we might be seeing Samsung update their devices even faster with Android 10.

Samsung's Android 10 update with One UI 2.0 may have just leaked
A leaked build of what might be One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 for Samsung Galaxy devices may have just appeared online. Here's what it looks like.
In a startling turn of events, an 11-minute video of Android 10 "Queen Cake" running on the Samsung Galaxy S10+ has leaked out today. This video comes from Brazilian YouTuber Dudu Rocha. He goes over some basic changes in One UI 2.0 on the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and how it compares to One UI 1.0 on the Samsung Galaxy S9+. While I'm not 100% sure this is legitimate, the SecurityLogAgent notification I spotted is a tell-tale sign that a non-official binary is being run on the device. This along with a few build numbers I saw makes me think this is legitimate, but I can't be sure until Samsung officially announces the update.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has an exclusive Samsung DeX feature that lets you run DeX on your existing Windows or macOS PC. It went live today.
Samsung DeX is one of the cooler features on flagship Galaxy smartphones. It allows you to run your Android apps in a desktop-like experience. Until the Galaxy Note 10 launch, you could only use DeX if you had an external display that accepts video input. With the Note 10, Samsung made a desktop client so you can use DeX on top of macOS or Windows. If you are getting a Galaxy Note 10 and are interested in using this new mode, the desktop tools are now available. All you need now is a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer.
