The Steam Deck is designed to be played anywhere you go, but does it have the battery life for it?

Samsung's long-awaited 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 SSD is now finally available to pre-order.
When buying the best SSD for your PC there's always one name that should be towards the top of the list; Samsung. We're not quite there yet with PCIe 5.0 SSDs being a thing, but that hasn't stopped Samsung from trying to keep improving its storage products. The 990 Pro is the latest and greatest, and like those that have come before it, now lays claim to being the company's absolute best storage product. It's been a pretty long wait to get hold of one, though, but fortunately, that's about to change.

Unfortunately, the presale hasn't happened yet, as expected, but there's also some good news to go with it.
Intel Core i9-13900K review: Retaking the performance crown for team blue
Intel's newest Core i9 has more cores and performance than ever before, taking back the short-lived crown from AMD.
Not that long ago, we were proudly declaring the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X as the biggest, baddest CPU on the planet. It wasn't without its flaws, but the results spoke for themselves. However, AMD is no longer in a league of one because Intel has answered right back with the Core i9-13900K. In some regards, this 13th-generation upgrade is a minor one over the 12th, but in others, it's a substantial leap.
Windows 8 was a triumph and the last time I really cared about tablets
Windows 8 is 10 years old and it was a lot better than most people want to remember.
Remember Windows 8? Turns out that it's actually 10 years but if you look back at it in 2022 it's still so modern looking you could be forgiven for thinking it was a more recent release. But it wasn't particularly popular, and essentially all trace of it has now been wiped from Windows.
Intel Core i5-13600K review: The best CPU to put in a gaming PC right now
Has Intel done it again and built the best CPU for gaming PCs? You better believe it did.
There was a time when many gamers, system builders, and enthusiasts would pass by the Intel Core i5. It's not that it was bad, but it was a little uninteresting for many years. That changed with the Core i5-12600K, so we've been waiting (im)patiently for its successor. And that successor is now here, unsurprisingly called the Intel Core i5-13600K.

AMD apparently isn't using the 12VHPWR connector for its next Radeon graphics cards
The 12VHPWR connector on the RTX 4090 is in some potentially hot water, and apparently main competitor AMD won't be using it at all.
Nvidia's use of the new 12VHPWR 12-pin power connector on the RTX 4090 has come into heavy criticism in recent days. Reports have begun emerging of the power connectors melting, seemingly linked to bends in the cables introducing too much resistance, uneven loads, or just cables coming free from the connector. Immediately, thoughts turned to AMD, due to reveal its next-gen RDNA 3 Radeon graphics cards in November, and whether team red would be using the same connector.
Microsoft outs a bunch of as yet unannounced Intel 13th Gen CPUs
Microsoft isn't the first to reveal the apparent existence of these processors, but it makes it an ever more likely accurate look at Intel's next.
The long-awaited launch of the Intel 13th Gen CPUs is now behind us, but the initial product family was far from everything we're going to see. Initially launching only unlocked, higher-end 13th Gen CPUs like the Core i9-13900K, we've always expected that the family would be padded out by other variants and some entry-level products.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 review: The untouchable king of performance
There is no other graphics card like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. Its power is unmatched, as is its size and its power consumption.
Christmas definitely came early for PC gamers this year. AMD has yet to show its hand with its next-gen graphics cards, but Nvidia and even Intel already have, and there's a lot to talk about. Different approaches, yes, but extremely interesting nonetheless. Nvidia, true to form, has gone right for the jugular with its new flagship, the GeForce RTX 4090.
Intel's new Arc driver gets ready for Gotham Knights and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
It's a fairly big week for new PC games and Intel is on the ball with new Arc drivers for Gotham Knights, Uncharted and more.
Day-one drivers from Nvidia and AMD for new games are commonplace but now we've got to throw Intel into that ring. Especially since team blue's drivers are the source of much discussion since the launch of the Arc dedicated GPUs. The latest drivers have just been posted for all Intel Arc GPU owners and gets things prepared for some big releases coming this week.
Cablemod comes to the rescue with just what every RTX 4090 owner will want
If you have or are getting an RTX 4090 then you'll definitely want one of these Cablemod adapters to help you power the girthy graphics card.
Much has been made of the size of the Nvidia RTX 4090, but part of the problem is the included power connector. Most of us will require the use of the in-box adapter just to turn the thing on, and that creates its own set of issues. Power supply makers are starting to get on the case, but Cablemod is here to throw its hat in the ring. The company's newly announced right-angled 12VHPWR cable is just what the doctor ordered.
Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition review: A beacon of hope for budget PC gamers
The Intel Arc A750 is under $300 and for the most part delivers on Intel's performance promises. See why in our full review.
Intel's assault on the GPU markets has two arms, and both are going for almost the same result. The Arc A770 is the range-topper and, for many, the most alluring. But it has a sibling that looks the same, performs almost the same, and costs a little less. And we're not talking like an RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti; the relationship is much closer than that. We're talking about the Intel Arc A750.
Nvidia decides to 'unlaunch' the 12GB RTX 4080 because it's confusing
Nvidia was going to launch two versions of the RTX 4080. Now its not going to do that as the 12GB one is "unlaunched".
In a surprising but somewhat welcome move, Nvidia has decided to pull the plug on the 12GB RTX 4080 due to launch in November. Or rather they're "unlaunching" it. Turns out that having two graphics cards with the same name but different specs is confusing.
Do you need a BIOS update for Intel 13th Gen?
Intel 13th Gen works with the older Z690 motherboards but will it just work or will you need to install an update?
Intel's 13th Gen CPUs will arrive alongside a new chipset and new motherboards carrying it. The new Z790 motherboards will be available from October 20 as with the CPUs, But 13th Gen will also support the older Z690 motherboards that launched with the 12th Gen CPUs.
