Skyfire for Android – Beta Version Available

The popular Skyfire browser is finally here for Android! Skyfire is a downloadable, free mobile browser that gives you a Web browsing experience exactly like PC browsing.

Skyfire has been available for a while now on the Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms and boasts that it’s the only mobile browser to support all major Web 2.0 standards – Ajax, Javascript and Flash 10 (although note – no Flash for Android as yet).

XDA forum member Godzson has posted this exciting news.  First reports on the beta are that Skyfire does not compress as much as Opera Mini and that it renders pages very quickly.

I've been around XDA since 2007 when I bought the HTC Touch, well things have moved on a lot since then, and I've tried my hand at developing for WM and Android (still learning), but wanted to contribute more by becoming a News Writer for XDA.I write mainly Android articles, and some Windows Mobile. We're always sifting through the masses of threads for front page news, but do let me or the other guys know if you think anything is newsworthy including any breaking news!
