Xiaomi had a lot of awesome devices in 2016 such as the original Mi Mix which jumpstarted the trend of bezel-less smartphones. But Xiaomi's main flagship at the time was the Xiaomi Mi 5 and its revision, the Xiaomi Mi 5s. Featuring a 5.2" display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 3/4 GB of RAM configurations with 64/128 GB of storage, a 12MP rear-facing camera and a 3200 mAh battery, there was a lot to love about it back then. The device launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and was later upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 9. Now, the phone is receiving an update to the latest MIUI 10 Global Stable software.

The build is still based on Android 7.0 Nougat, and by the looks of it, it's highly unlikely it will receive an official Android Pie-based MIUI 10 build given that the device has not even received an official update to Android Oreo. Still, MIUI 10 brings a new UI as well as a slew of new features such as full-screen gestures. You can download the newest recovery ROM firmware, which is roughly 1.4 GB, by clicking/tapping the link below. You can sideload it via the MIUI Updater in system settings.
