The just-launched OnePlus 6T doesn’t just aim to be an improvement hardware wise over its predecessor, but it aims to bring in software improvements too. While we’re sure that we’ll see these changes trickle down to the OnePlus 6, it may take a while. Rather than wait, we have the updated OnePlus Launcher and Live Wallpaper APKs from the OnePlus 6T that you can install on your OnePlus 6. There aren’t any new features in the launcher per se, but installing it on the OnePlus 6 will enable a new navigation gesture that debuts on the OnePlus 6T.

A little while ago, OnePlus talked about a new UI coming to the OnePlus 6T alongside some new navigation gestures. We’ve already seen the Google Assistant gesture in the Open Betas of OxygenOS, but the app quick switch gesture wasn’t available. Now it is – but only on the OnePlus 6T. However, it turns out that you can get it on the OnePlus 6 simply by installing the latest version of the OnePlus Launcher taken from the OnePlus 6T. This is because, as of Android Pie, the recents app overview is built into the Launcher application and so are OnePlus’ gestures. (This is also how you are able to revert back to regular Android Oreo recents instead if you’d prefer.)

To activate the new gesture, simply swipe straight up and then to the right. You can check it out in action below.

You don’t need to do anything other than install the APK to get access to this new gesture, although you will have to be on OxygenOS 9 based on Android Pie. While personally, I didn’t mind not having a way to quickly switch between apps, I have found myself already using this gesture quite a bit. It’ll activate immediately once you install the latest version of the OnePlus Launcher, so you won’t have to do anything. Just make sure your gestures are switched on! You can download the APK below.
