Not only is OnePlus in the habit of releasing two smartphones a year (sometimes with minimal differences and sometimes with added/removed features), but they also like to release special editions of their devices as well. It was one year ago when the company released a special Star Wars Edition of the OnePlus 5T. You may remember that the device launched with custom wallpapers and other assets, and we showed you how to enable these software features on any OnePlus 5T. This year, the company partnered with McLaren to release a special edition of the OnePlus 6T and we're here yet again to show you how to get those new assets on the standard 6T and OnePlus 6.
Thanks to a Magisk Module from XDA Senior Member AnoopKumar, you can get the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition's exclusive wallpapers, boot animation, and sounds on your regular OnePlus 6T or OnePlus 6. You technically don't need to be rooted with Magisk to get the wallpapers, ringtone, and notification sounds (we have the individual files right here), but you do need to be rooted if you want the new boot animation.
