Dynamically Change Your OnePlus One’s Lock Screen Theme

Dynamically Change Your OnePlus One’s Lock Screen Theme

Although they were originally designed to secure our mobile devices and prevent inadvertent and accidental device usage, lock screens have evolved into so much more. They not only serve a functional purpose in protecting our devices, but they also show us information with lock screen widgets and even serve as a bit of eye candy. However, that last bit is hampered a little by having one static lock screen theme.

Luckily for OnePlus One users, there’s now an incredibly easy way to get just a little bit more out of your lock screen’s aesthetics. This comes courtesy of a modification by XDA Recognized Themer rush25 that dynamically changes your lock screen to match the selected theme. There are versions for devices running both the stock CM11s ROM, as well as standard CyanogenMod11. Finally, if you aren’t happy with the dynamic color applied by the modified key guard APK, you can easily edit the theme’s preset color and it will now affect the lock screen.

If you’ve ever wanted your lock screen’s theme to change in response to your device theme, head over to the Dynamic OnePlus One Lock Screen Mod thread and give this a whirl. Furthermore, since this modification simply replaces the device’s keyguard.apk file, you can even adapt this modification for use on other devices running CyanogenMod 11 by either extracting the APK and applying it manually or changing the mount point in the flashable zip to match!
