At the end of 2018, EMUI 9 (Android Pie) was announced for a handful of devices. The list included the Huawei Mate 10, Huawei P20, and more. The update has rolled out to a few of these devices already. The Honor View 10 was one of the included devices and the update is rolling out now.

Despite the company's stance on bootloader unlocking, Honor has been doing a decent job of providing software support to their large catalog of devices. That large catalog of devices is spread around the globe in many countries, which means not all devices receive updates at the same time. So while EMUI 9 has been available for the Honor View 10 in other regions, it's now available in the US.

Honor View 10 XDA Forum

EMUI 9 brings an update UI that feels like a hybrid between EMUI 8 and stock Android Pie. It includes many of the typical Android Pie features, including a new gesture navigation system. This update is build number 9.0.0.201(C567E6R1P12) and it's for the Honor View 10 US model BKL-L04 (slightly different from the international model BKL-L09.) Here's a video that shows how you can update to EMUI 9.

Note: Huawei has stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloader of the Honor View 10 cannot be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.
