Focus Mode is a new addition to the Digital Wellbeing suite of tools that was announced at Google I/O earlier this Summer. We first saw the feature in show up in Android Q Beta 3, and now it's rolling out in the latest beta version of Digital Wellbeing. Focus Mode is compatible with Android Pie and Android Q.

One of the focuses of Digital Wellbeing is to eliminate distractions. We've seen this with things like the grayscale option and Do Not Disturb modes. Focus Mode takes this to the next level by adding apps to the mix. You can select specific apps that you find particularly distracting and add them to "Focus Mode." All the selected apps will be blocked while Focus Mode is running.

Focus Mode will show a notification while running with a shortcut to turn it off. For easy access, there is also a Quick Setting tile. This is a great tool for those moments when you really need to hunker down and focus on something. Rather than blocking apps one by one, just set it up once in the Digital Wellbeing settings and you have an easy "kill distractions" button.

As mentioned, Focus Mode is available to all Android Pie and Android Q devices that have access to Digital Wellbeing. The feature is available in version 1.0.263733828.beta. You can download the APK from here and sideload it.
