Future Plans for the XDA Portal

Today, February 15, 2010, we “soft” launched the new XDA Portal. Our goal was to provide users an alternative way to find the best content in the forums, and we have a great team of news writers who are helping to contribute.

The portal’s functionality right now is fairly basic, but we have greater plans, including:

  • A searchable software directory. The device navigation on the right is a start–it should only deliver content relevant to a specific device–but we want to implement something much more complete.
  • A “home page” for every device that will integrate content from the wiki, portal, and forums.
  • Better integration (including shared user names for commenting) between the portal and forums.
  • Hopefully much more.

If you have suggestions for any part of XDA, post them in the user request forum, which we read every day.
