LG G4 Benchmarks
Today I was walking around in a corn field, enjoying nature, and I though to myself “I wonder how the LG G4 performs with Android benchmarks.” These are things I often think about. With this thought in my head, I put on my lab coat and started small fire in my home. I downloaded some of the most popular benchmark and performance test apps from the Play store. I ran them on an unmodified LG G4 LG-H811, right out of the box. Let’s take a look at these scores.
The LG G4 is equipped with a Snapdragon 808 CPU, an Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
The GPUbench app scored the LG G4 at 15,093 points. Highest FPS achieved was 91.53. This app it strictly made to measure graphics performance. The G4 has an Adreno 418 graphics chip. This is one of the newest and fastest graphics chips out right now, so you can expect this phone to perform very well with graphics.
You’ll see here that the LG G4 is listed again, three spots higher than mine. An Android phone will always have varying benchmark scores, every time you run it. I think my score of 47844 is way low, and with a bit of modification, you could see this phone outperform every other on this list.
The Snapdragon 808 chip in this phone has a Quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 & dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57. This processor is capable of going a bit higher than that, so you might want to look into overclocking if you’re unsatisfied with the speeds. Having used this phone for a bit, I can definitely say that the CPU is plenty powerful for anything I could throw at the phone. The benchmark scores sometimes mean very little, compared to the actual performance of the phone.
As a scientist, I can say that this is one of the more capable phones, when it comes to processor intensive applications. Not only that, but it’s very snappy when navigating the OS. I also went into the Developer settings and turned Animation Scales down to 0.5, then I really felt like I want living in the future!
So while the LG G4 only scores about half as well as phones like the OnePlus 2, the reason for the is because of the 2K screen. Any phone with a much higher resolution will have a lower score with this benchmark. Even with the Adreno 418 GPU, it’s difficult to push out a 2K resolution on a mobile device. Some would argue that it is kind of unnecessary. Then again, my parents say the same thing about me being born.
Don’t let this score fool you. This device is amazing for gaming. Everything runs and looks great! I tried running some of the more graphics intensive games on this phone, and everything worked out just fine.
So you can be confident that the LG G4 has the specs to perform very well. I wish I had the confidence to tell my neighbors to not throw trash on my car and roll Bug Bombs into my house when I’m sleeping.
