Google App is getting a redesigned, cleaner settings page

Ahead of today’s Made by Google event, the company appears to be testing a redesigned Settings page in the Google App. We were able to activate this design manually with the help of XDA Recognized Developer Quinny899. As you can see in the comparison photos below, the new design is cleaner than the previous look. It also matches the Material Theme update that has been rolling out to Google apps.

The simpler design is in Google App version 8.24.9.21. We previously showed off the new layout for the Google Assistant section in the Google App Settings. When tapping “Google Assistant” in this new UI, you see the new layout that we discovered earlier. Here are a few more screenshots of the redesigned Settings in the Google App.

It’s very possible that Google will show off this new look during the event later today. Of course, it’s also possible that Google is not done testing and we won’t see it for a while yet. Either way, Google’s flagship app will soon be getting more Material Theme elements. How do you think it looks?
