We first heard about a revamp to Google Material Design back in February referencing the redesign of Android’s design language. The refresh was officially announced at Google I/O 2018. The Material Theming tools allow any brand to create their own style of Material Design. Google’s Material Theme has rolled out to Google Photos, Google Drive, Android Messages, Google Phone, Google Calendar, Contacts, Google Calculator, and Chrome. But, there are still a few applications left to receive the new design. One of those apps was Google Keep, which was recently renamed to Keep Notes.

As you can see in the screenshots below, the note-taking application has just been updated with a white card design following the Google Material Theme style. You can also see the updated search bar. The search interface after tapping the bar is basically the same as the previous versions, just whiter.

There is not really any new feature or behavioral changes in the update. The new version literally makes everything whiter. While some of you really hate this new look of Material Design, you have to admit that this is at least more consistent than the previous design language. Unfortunately, Google sometimes doesn’t follow their own guidelines. Here are more screenshots of the update.

The update has already started rolling out on the Google Play Store. Out of all the writers at XDA, I’m the first one to receive the update so far. That gives me reason to think that it’s a classic slow rollout process. But, you can download the APK file from APKMirror and sideload it by yourself.
