Forums Also Added for the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player
Just yesterday, Google unveiled not only Android 5.0 Lollipop, but also three new Nexus devices that collectively serve as the reference platform for the new OS. Before the official unveiling, we announced the creation of a forum for the then-unreleased Google Nexus 6 (as well as the similarly specced Motorola Droid Turbo). Now, we’ve also created two new forums for the Google Nexus 9 and Google Nexus Player.
Just as we wrote yesterday, the HTC-built Google Nexus 9 features an 8.9″ QXGA (2048×1536) display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and double-tap to wake functionality, a speedy 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor (Kepler GPU), 2 gigs of RAM, 16 or 32 gigs of internal storage, an 8 MP rear camera, and a 1.6 MP front camera. This is all packed into a shell that comes in at 153.68mm wide x 228.25mm tall x 7.95mm thick, and weighs 425g for the WiFi-only variant and 436g for the LTE model.
The Google Nexus Player device is Google’s latest attempt to conquer the living room. This streamlined console features a remote with voice search and an optional precision gamepad with dual-analog thumbsticks. The device’s modified Android interface will feature personalized content recommendations, support Google Cast, and respond to voice searches with the press of a button. The device is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom CPU with an Imagination PowerVR Series 6 GPU, backed by 1 gig of RAM and 8 gigs of internal storage.
So which of these new Nexus devices are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments below, and of course, you can get in on the discussion by heading to the forums for the newly released Nexus devices below:
