Here is How Samsung’s Do Not Disturb Works
Every Smartphone has some sort of version of a “Do not disturb” mode, sometimes refereed to as “dnd” by aggressive teenagers. When activated, this mode to suspend any notifications from your phone. Your phone will silent all phone calls, texts, and notifications until dnd is turned off.
“Choose when and how you wish to be updated with incoming alerts and notifications. The Do Not Disturb feature mutes all calls, alerts and notifications on your mobile device. You have the option of customizing which notifications, alerts or calls you wish to have go through when the Do Not Disturb option is selected. The function can also be programmed to turn on and off automatically at scheduled intervals.”
Follow these instructions from Samsung to manage dnd on Samsung Galaxy phones.
Turn on Do not Disturb from the settings menu:
1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
2. Touch Settings .
3. Touch Sounds and vibration.

4. Touch the slider next to Do not disturb to turn on Do not disturb mode
.

5. When Do not disturb mode is active, a specific icon is displayed on the top left corner of the screen:

1. To open the Quick Settings Panel, swipe from the top to the bottom of the screen, using two fingers.

2. Touch Do not disturb to turn on Do not disturb mode.

Allow exceptions
Note: If alarms are not set as an exception, Do not disturb mode will silence all alarms set on your device.
If you want to receive notifications from certain apps even when Do not disturb mode is turned on, you must set these notifications as exceptions.
1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
2. Touch Settings .
3. Touch Sounds and vibration.

4. Touch Do not disturb.

5. Touch Allow exceptions.

6. Choose whether to allow No exceptions, Alarms only, or Custom.

Note: We strongly recommend you to choose Alarms only or Custom.
7. If you chose Custom, touch the slider next to each exception you want to turn on
and set different options:

• Alarms: Allow notification sounds and vibrations for alarms. This feature will be turned on automatically. We strongly recommend you to leave this option activated.
• Repeat callers: If you receive more than one call from the same number within 15 minutes, the call will be allowed to ring.
• Calls from: Choose whose calls will cause your device to play a notification sound or vibrate. Select All, Contacts only, Favorite contacts only, or None.
• Messages from: Choose whose messages will cause your device to play a notification sound or vibrate. Select All, Contacts only, Favorite contacts only, or None.
• Event/task alerts: Allow notification sounds and vibrations for Calendar events and tasks.
• Reminders: Allow reminders from applications that support them.
• Priority app notifications: Touch the slider next to each application you want to turn on as an exception.
Turn on scheduling
You can set Do not disturb mode to turn on or off automatically at scheduled times.
1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
2. Touch Settings .
3. Touch Sounds and vibration.

4. Touch Do not disturb.

5. Touch the slider next to Enable as scheduled to turn Do not disturb mode on
at scheduled time.

6. Touch Days.

7. Mark the checkboxes for the days when you want Do not disturb mode to turn on automatically or uncheck the unnecessary ones. Then, touch DONE.

8. Touch Start time.

9. Swipe up or down, or touch the hour and minute displays and AM or PM to enter the time Do not disturb mode will turn on. Then, touch DONE when you are set.

10. Touch End time.

11. Swipe up or down, or touch the hour and minute displays and AM or PM to enter the time Do not disturb mode will turn off. Then, touch DONE when you are set.

4. Touch the slider next to Do not disturb to turn it off

Turn off do not disturb mode from the notifications panel
1. Swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom to open the Notifications Panel.

2. Touch the Do not disturb enabled notification and then touch DISABLE to turn Do not disturb mode off.
