The Huawei Mate 30 Pro was announced last week and its launch is certainly one of the most interesting stories we've seen in a while. If you look at the device purely in terms of hardware, the Mate 30 Pro is easily one of the best phones on the market. It has a stunning display, excellent cameras, a great design, and more than enough power. However, and this is a big "however," on the software side, it doesn't have Google apps or services.

XDA TV's TK Bay has the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and he has posted videos about it. Yesterday, he showed us how to get Google Play Services up and running on the device (it's not as simple as sideloading). Next up, TK has done a deep dive on the hardware and software features. One of the things he talks about is what the alternative app stores have to offer. What if you don't get the Play Store on the device? What are your options?

TK talks about how he tried to use the Mate 30 Pro without Google apps just to see if he could do it. He was only able to go about half a day before he couldn't go without Google apps anymore. After that, the experience was great. If you don't use the Play Store, you can use Huawei's App Gallery or even the Amazon Appstore.
