Huawei P20, P20 Lite, and P20 Pro Revealed in Leaked Press Renders
The first solid details we learned about the upcoming Huawei P series was a leak from Evan Blass, which gave us the company’s roadmap for 2018. These shouldn’t ever be taken at face value since there are a lot of hurdles that can delay a launch. Still, it gave us a rough idea to expect the Huawei P series sometime during the second quarter of this year. There have been a few live photos of the Huawei P20, P20 Lite and P20 Pro (which seems to have originally been called the P20 Plus). Now we have what looks to be official press renders of these devices.
Leaks of the Huawei P series have been all over the place this year. Back in January, we saw three schematics that claimed to show what the devices looked like. However, only one of those devices featured the display notch and the placement of the rear camera module doesn’t match what we’re seeing today. Other leaks that seemed to have clashing specs are the two that we reported on over the last couple of months for the Huawei P20 Lite. The screen sizes depicted in those rumors just didn’t match up.
Sources close to us revealed that the Huawei P20 would be launching with Android 8.1 Oreo, which is built into the EMUI 8.1 OEM ROM. We’ll have to wait and see if the Huawei P20 Lite and P20 Pro follow suit as we could honestly see it going either way in this case.
We saw a number of smartphones this year featuring the display notch and I don’t think this trend is going to stop anytime soon. So there we have it, a great look at the front, back, and side of the upcoming Huawei P series of smartphones. Each of them has a slightly unique design, including the fingerprint scanner, noise cancellation microphone, and more. We’ll be looking forward to the launch event which will be held on March 27th.
