The Huawei P30 will be announced on March 26th in Paris
Over the last year, Huawei P20 and the P20 Pro have received a lot of admiration for their cameras. Both the smartphones are capable of producing images of great quality and the more powerful of the two – Huawei P20 Pro – proudly sits at the top of the ladder with the highest DxOMark ratings, sharing this honor with sibling Mate 20 Pro. Now, the Chinese tech giant is poised to launch successors to the P20 series and has officially confirmed that the Huawei P30 launch event will take place in Paris next month.
Through its official Instagram account, Huawei announced that the P30 series will be launched in Paris on March 26. Presumably, we will see more than a single model. Based on the leaks in the past, Huawei could unveil the P30 Pro alongside the Huawei P30 at the Paris event. While P30 Lite could also be expected to join the two other smartphones, we have yet to witness any leak related to the device.
While the teaser does not reveal a lot of information about the devices, the graphic used by Huawei hints at telephoto zoom lenses on both devices. Last year, only the P20 Pro had optical zoom capabilities, with up to 3X zoom. But now with the Huawei P30 series, we can hope to see telephoto lenses on both the devices.
The Huawei P30 promises to be another imaging powerhouse, according to someone who's seen one: triple rear camera, with a maximum resolution of 40MP and 5x lossless zoom, plus a 24MP selfie cam. And this isn't even the Pro variant.

Furthermore, the use of the hashtag, “#RewriteTheRules,” suggests that Huawei could be experimenting with different ways of integrating optical zoom. The renowned leaker, Evan Blass, had previously shared some inputs regarding the P30’s rear camera, although this did not appear to be one of his most reliable leaks.
Earlier leaks do confirm that this time, both – the Huawei P30 and the P30 Pro – will have one extra lens compared to the last year. Based on the previously leaked Olixar cases for both the devices, the P30 Pro will have quad cameras on the back. Meanwhile, digital renders of the Huawei P30 shared by 91Mobiles suggest that the smartphone would arrive with triple cameras. Additionally, both devices have been tipped to feature waterdrop notches with single cameras for selfies.
The renders also show a gradient coloring theme and a vinyl-like pattern underneath a highly glossy surface used for the back of the Huawei P30, similar to the pattern on the back of the Mate 20 Pro.
As for the specifications, we can expect both the devices to rock the company’s latest Hisilicon Kirin 980 chipset and at least 6GB of RAM. We will update you as and when more information and leaks related to the Huawei P30 series come our way.
