Install Apps to SD or Device Memory with SetInstallLocation

Install Apps to SD or Device Memory with SetInstallLocation

If you are frustrated with apps always installing to your Android device memory and would like to be able to choose the install location without having to use the apps to SD hack, look no further.

XDA forum member JD82, has written a simple beta application that let’s you set the default install location so that all apps install automatically to your location choice. SetInstallLocation also provides the feature where you can choose the install location manually, which is useful as some apps must be installed to device memory.

Requirements for SetInstallLocation:

  • Root
  • Froyo
  • USB debugging enabled

To try out the app and provide feedback, check out the application thread.

About author

I've been around XDA since 2007 when I bought the HTC Touch, well things have moved on a lot since then, and I've tried my hand at developing for WM and Android (still learning), but wanted to contribute more by becoming a News Writer for XDA. I write mainly Android articles, and some Windows Mobile. We're always sifting through the masses of threads for front page news, but do let me or the other guys know if you think anything is newsworthy including any breaking news!
