The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is a great first or starter laptop for just $230 this Black Friday

The PC and laptop markets have witnessed a solid uptick in demand this year, all due to the coronavirus pandemic. With organizations and schools moving to a work/learn from home protocol, more and more people have been investing in building their own office/study at home. In case you are also planning to do the same and haven’t managed to purchase a great notebook yet, then the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is up for grabs at a discounted price this Black Friday.

This is the entry-level variant of the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 which should be good for basic office and schoolwork. Keep your expectations grounded, and you will be pleasantly surprised.

The basic Intel Pentium processor equipped model of the laptop is selling for $230 on Staples while the more powerful model with the 10th-gen Intel Core i5 processor can be purchased for $250 on Best Buy. The IdeaPad 3 from Lenovo is an everyday laptop suitable for your basic office or schoolwork. The base model featuring the Intel Pentium Gold 6405U dual-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz comes with 1TB of hard drive storage and 4GB of DDR4 RAM. The 15.6-inch display comes with a Full-HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and the battery is said to last about 9 hours. The notebook comes preloaded with Windows 10 Home.

This particular model of the IdeaPad 3 is suited for consumers who want a bit more than just a basic laptop. The Core i5 processor along with the 256GB SSD and 12GB of RAM should provide some good performance for everyday tasks and some more.

If you need more performance, then go for the Core i5 model. This one comes with the Intel Core i5-1035G1 CPU, 12GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and a claimed battery life of 7.5 hours. This machine is definitely going to run faster and offer better performance if you want to go beyond just browsing and watching videos. While it does have the same 15.6-inch display, the resolution is lower at 1366 x 768-pixels. This one comes preloaded with Windows 10 Home S but can be switched to regular Windows 10 Home at no additional cost.

Both laptops come with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, a headphone-mic jack combo, one USB 2.0 Type-A port, and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports. You can choose depending on your need and budget.
