At IFA in Berlin earlier this year, Huawei teased the EMUI 10 roadmap for a couple of devices. The company followed that up with a list of 33 devices, both from Huawei and Honor, along with their update schedule. Among these were the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, and Honor View 20. As per the schedule, these devices were set to receive an open beta update to Android 10 in late October. As expected, the company is now rolling out Magic UI 3.0 beta based on Android 10 to these devices.

According to a recent report from TheAndroidSoul, Honor has opened registrations for Magic UI 3.0 beta for Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro and Honor View 20 users in Germany. However, the beta update is only available for the first 400 users per device. To register for the update, you'll first need to update your device to the latest software update available. Then you can download the official beta app and sign up for an account if you don't have one already. Following that, you'll need to go to the Personal tab and tap on Join Project. Join the Magic UI 3.0 beta program on the next page. Once your access is approved, you should get the official OTA in about two weeks.

A separate report from PiunikaWeb reveals that the Magic UI 3.0 beta is also making its way to the Honor View 20 in the Asia-Pacific region. The update (version 10.0.0.157) includes new features introduced with Android 10, including a system-wide dark mode. However, it's still on the Android Security patch for September 2019, which is a bummer. The screenshot below was recently shared in a thread on the Honor View 20 XDA forums.  In the same thread, a couple of users have mentioned that the beta is also available in France, the UK, and Spain.

Magic UI 3.0 Update Honor View 20

Since the company is only offering limited access to the Magic UI 3.0 beta, it's safe to say that it'll be quite a while before the update hits the stable channel. As of now, the company has released no rollout timeline for the same. It's worth noting that Huawei has already started rolling out beta versions of EMUI 10 based on Android 10 to a couple of its devices. The flagship Huawei P30 and P30 Pro were the first to receive the update early last month. And the Huawei Mate 20 Pro followed suit with an unofficial update just a couple of days ago.
