Augmented reality is becoming more and more popular these days. From Google's Playground feature in the Pixel phones to the AR Lens setting in Huawei and Honor phones, it can be used for fun or for utility purposes. AR has been used to place virtual avatars in a real-world environment (which can interact with each other) and to measure the distance of an object (or between two objects). There are even some apps that have features which will let you create a 3D avatar of an object so that it can be used in an AR environment.

XDA Senior Member Pretoriano80 has recently released a Magisk Module that brings AR Lens features to the EMUI 9 Huawei camera application. It has personally been tested by the developer on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, but they note that it could possibly work on other devices with EMUI 9 as well. Once installed on the Mate 10 Pro (using the canary branch of Magisk right now), you should find the feature in the "other" section of the Huawei camera application settings. Check out the thread from the Mate 10 forum below for more details.

Note: Huawei has stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloader of the Mate 10 Pro cannot be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.
