MIUI 10 China Beta is Here for the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X

MIUI 10, the successor to MIUI 9, was announced alongside the Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and the Mi 8 SE. MIUI 10 features a new UI, redesigned keeping in mind the needs and demands of smartphones with high screen-to-body ratios and thin bezels. The brand new Recents menu, for example, features a 2×2 app grid to enable more apps and content to be visible, as opposed to the sideways scrolling card switcher that was found on MIUI . It also supports full-screen gestures to help users live without capacitive buttons.

A point to note, however, is that the MIUI ROM that is available in China is different from the MIUI ROM that is made available globally. MIUI in China comes with features that are more suited for their target demographic in that country, with deeper integrations to Xiaomi’s online services and partnerships. The Global ROM is not merely a translation of the Chinese ROM, as it tries to deliver more on the expectations of users around the world who do not have access to all of Xiaomi’s product and service ecosystem, and have access to Google’s instead.

The public beta for MIUI 10 (China) was slated to begin in late June for the first batch of devices, and in late July for the second batch of devices. And now, the China Beta is being made available ahead of schedule for the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X/Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm version (mido).

Download links for the devices are given below, alongside links to the required recovery:

Now that MIUI 10 China Beta is made available for public beta for Mi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4X, we can also expect to see custom ROMs such as the unofficial ROMs from the Xiaomi.eu community going live for these devices.
