Xiaomi's MIUI is something of a mixed bag. For users outside of China, it doesn't always offer the most appealing UX, but MIUI has undoubtedly come a long way since its inception. MIUI Product Director Liu Ming and Design Director Ge Rui held an AMA session about MIUI 11 back in March, in which we learned about the latest and greatest OS from Xiaomi. Features such as ultra power saving mode, automatic screenshot management, and a system-wide dark theme were discussed as part of the AMA.

System-wide dark theme is something we've seen companies such as Samsung introduce already, and the feature has been very well-received. While other Xiaomi devices such as the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro have already received the feature via an MIUI 10 beta, it's not something that is available to all devices just yet. While Android Q will offer a native dark theme, Xiaomi users may be privileged enough to receive the feature first, if the company moves fast enough.

POCO F1 XDA Forums

Xiaomi is still waiting for feedback from users who already have the dark theme before they roll it out to other devices. This gives them time to fix bugs and generally stabilize the setting before releasing it to everyone. And it seems that it will be released to everyone. In a Twitter thread, head of Pocophone Alvin Tse said that once dark mode stabilizes it will be ported to MIUI 11.

Given that Tse is head of Pocophone, and that the POCO F1 uses MIUI, the message is clear. The POCO F1 will have a system-wide dark theme once MIUI 11 is released. Tse also mentions that MIUI 11 "isn't too far away." While this is vague at best, it's still a strong indication that Xiaomi is getting close to a finished product for MIUI 11.
